For some time now, my heart has been touched by the personal stories of many women and children who have suffered the effects of domestic violence. As a result, I have been inspired to compose a CD of original songs that speak directly to the pain and fear that impacts so many lives as a result of being involved in or exposed to violence in relationships . As difficult as it was to write, I believe my voice can be a powerful instrument in helping victims and survivors to face their challenges and know that they are not alone.
As my commitment to this cause, I am pleased to announce that I have decided to donate the proceeds from my CD “Domestic Disturbance” to support Domestic Violence Agencies and Shelters throughout California through the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence and the Moby S.O.S. fund. “Domestic Disturbance” is a concept record that chronicles the life cycle of a violent relationship. The message in this music is significant and deserves to be heard in our community, as it is close to home for a lot of us directly or indirectly. In addition to the production of the CD, I have worked with many outstanding organizations that provide services to survivors of domestic violence in our community by donating my time and talents. I have hosted and performed at benefit concerts, as well as volunteered to participate in events to help raise funds and awareness of domestic violence. Through live performances, CD promotion and motivational appearances I believe we can make a difference in many lives.
As stated, the proceeds from the CD will be distribute to agencies and organizations that provide services for survivors of domestic violence through the CPEDV and Moby SOS fund; for that reason, I am looking to the community to assist me in making this project a success.
